Come join Spaulding Adaptive Sports for kayaking in Charlestown! Spaulding Adaptive Kayaking is open to individuals with physical limitations due to arthritis, stroke, hip or knee surgery, amputation, paraplegia, and any other physically or cognitive limiting illness or injury. Spaudling Adaptive Sports has a fleet of kayaks, paddles, and accessories for participants’ use during this program. The program is delivered under the supervision of Spaulding clinicians and adaptive sports professionals. The trained staff outfits individuals with the appropriate kayak and paddle for safety, stability, and comfort.
Kayaking Essential Eligibility Criteria:
To participate in these events, all participants must meet the following criteria:
- Able to turn from face down to face up in the water with a PFD (“life jacket”)
- Able to create and maintain a closed airway
- Does not have an open or closed trachea tube
- Able to breathe independently
Pre-registration is required.
$20 per week
Session A: 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Session B: 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM
