Networking doesn’t get much better than this! Member social wrap-up

DSCN2611DSCN2673DSCN2533

Twenty people joined Access Rec last Thursday for our first member social: Sunset Moves & Cruise! Many thanks to Caitlyn Ridgely and the staff at Piers Park for hosting us at their beautiful facility, and to Kerry Thompson from Silent Rhythms for sharing her journey into dance and sharing strategies for supporting people who are deafblind! We shared a lot of laughs at our collective lack of rhythm, enjoyed a sail on a gorgeous (although windless) evening, had great food and drinks, and most of all, built connections to help everyone do their jobs just that much better. We hope you’ll join us next time!

Not quite a night for racing, but it allowed for great conversation!

GBAR Renamed Access Recreation Boston (ARB)

September 2013 (BOSTON):  The collaborative group known for years as GBAR: Greater Boston Access to Recreation formally voted to change its name to Access Recreation Boston or ARB so that the name follows with the newly registered domain: recboston.wpengine.com

Steering committee member and MA DCR employee Thomas McCarthy commented, “we’re proud of this appealing and broader name because it affords the group more potential for further expansion in future years if groups decide to sprout up in other cities such as Access Rec Chicago, Access Rec New England, etc.”
